Support: Fines for Vacants
Wilmington Neighborhoods Coalition supported recent changes to code enforcement from criminal to civil ONLY for unoccupied blighted structures that are not kept clean, secure, and watertight. Download the legislation here. This has given L&I new tools to address the properties that cause the most harm to communities and is focused on the type of property owners have historically been least likely to respond to existing methods of Code Enforcement.

Do you have a problem vacant property in your neighborhood?
Report the property to L&I and ask them to give administrative fines on unoccupied properties that don't meet requirements for being secure, watertight, with yards neatly maintained.
